Painting Class information

I am a realistic impressionist who specializes in portraiture and imagery involving the figure.  I also work plein aire and with students will do different forms of imagery.  In my teaching and work, I emphasize the importance of basics:  good drawing, design, values, color theory and painting.

Ongoing classes are held Saturday mornings from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Cost per class: $20.  My studio is at 1564 Home Farm Road, Mt. Pleasant.  Please call or email if you are interested in attending.

We may paint a "set-up" in class, but you may also bring your own ideas or subjects.  We will go out to paint on location if we can agree on this.  We will get experience with live models.  My aim is to help you learn to paint anything you see and want to paint.  This is a big step from just copying, which I consider mere illustration.  I have taught both beginner and intermediate students. 

You may come to every class or you may skip one or more if necessary.
